When other creators ask us for help, we are very happy that they see us as good partners for creative cooperation. This was the case with the Fala architectural studio from Gdańsk, which asked us to design their new logo.
Fala Studio is a duo of female architects, distinguished by their innovative approach to design. They are extremely aware, and their vision is based on the coexistence of architecture with the environment. Their original solutions have won many honors and awards in both the Polish and international arena.
Kamila and Paulina are individuals who stand out for their great awareness, as well as their sensitivity. Their designs are expected not only to fit perfectly into the existing environment, but also to create it. Thanks to the proposed innovative solutions, the objects are resistant to destruction or support the formation of new ecosystems for animals. The designers promote the use of local, natural materials and resources.
Hearing about the amazing projects of the Fala Studio, we knew that the logo we created had to reflect their original vision, while referring to the Scandinavian inspiration we were presented with.
Our main task was to combine the natural feel with professionalism, expressed only through lettering. The idea was that we were not supposed to create a key visual, which in many cases is an effective tool for fine-tuning the visual message. Therefore, in this case, our biggest challenge was to give (or even just suggest) to the Fala Studio a visual direction that, as their brand grows, the creatives can explore on their own.
Looking for the perfect combination of nature and structure, we decided to create a fully custom typography by ourselves. We treated the letters as forms that would relate to nature, resembling abandoned wood or sticks. The theoretical misalignment of lines is a fully deliberate treatment, referring to the non-ideal forms found in enviroment.
Cooperation with the Fala Studio was extremely smooth, based on mutual respect and understanding. The owners of the brand came to us with their vision, but thanks to their great trust, we were able to fully devote ourselves to the creative exploration of the subject.
